Sunshine Week 2012- DC Area Events

Sunshine Week is an initiative of the American Society of News Editors and the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press to promote a dialogue about the importance of the public’s right to know what its government is doing, and why.     Event: Release of "Following the Money 2012: How the 50 States Rate in Providing Online Access to Government Spending Data"
    Description: The report includes evaluations of each state on how well it provides spending information online and assigns them with “A” to “F” letter grades. This is the U.S. PIRG Education Fund’s third annual ranking of states’ progress toward checkbook-level transparency.
