[updated]Intelligence Reform Bill Includes Budget Disclosure, Classification Review Panel
The Senate version, S. 2845, requires disclosure of the annual intelligence budget and allows Congress to appeal agency decisions to classify documents or sections of public reports. Meanwhile, the White House complained about both provisions in a letter to lawmakers. The 9/11 Family Steering Committee holds a news conference on Oct. 20 to push the Senate version.
Status: Members of the House and Senate continue negotiating this week in conference committee.
