The Investigative Reporters and Editors will soon announce the recipient of the Golden Padlock Award, which “honors” the “most secretive publicly-funded agency or person” in the US. The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) has nominated the Department of Justice’s National Security Division , for its efforts to block EFF’s pursuit of FISA court opinions. The Department of Justice is no stranger to secrecy awards, having received the National Security Archive’s Rosemary Award twice.
